I'd completely forgotten they'd remade it in 2011. The John Carpenter version was superb. Going to have to watch that again tonight.

it's a premaquel! they find the camp from 2011 in JC's movie and they segue into each other because the credits scene is the dog running from the helicopter

Is it worth a watch?

it uses a lot of CGI and it's more of an action horror that kind of misses the point a little but it's worth seeing at least once back to back with Carpenter's version
