Criminals on Discord will still do crime even with Age verification shit. All they gotta don not set anything to Adult Content. If they don't work on their Moderantion team like they should have done back in 2017 nothing would have happened

Fyi, this was never cancelled in the first place. They never said they weren’t gonna do it, they just kept delaying it until what I can only presume is the right time when more ID verification bills will be passed down or be put in effect.

They legally cannot. Discord HQ is based in Cali and in Cali social media companies are legally required to have ID Verification especially sense the ID Verification bill passed congress months ago. Unless you want Discord to stop existing they legit cannot stop doing this it is expected of them

I don't know details friend, but it is already happening over here. Brazil has had ID verification on Discord for a while now, and they manage to block video streaming here as well, as demanding other things.

If this is the song and dance we'll have to go through then I'd rather see it end and everyone migrate to Fluxer or something tbh

I wouldn't call it "the hard part", it's more the fact that there is no better alternative. Even if there is, one bsky / twitter post is not enough to flip the thousands of accounts to turn it off It's a minor drop in the bucket that discord will write off as a slow quarter in the tax season
