Looking at the code, they're just skipping over links that match these domains. Are they going to start blanking bios if they have a fansly link? If no, then why even bother with this.

extremely bizarre to block links to adult content platforms on your adult content platform, but of course bluesky cannot ship a feature without fucking it up for entirely incomprehensible reasons

in truth I suppose the logic is probably "we don't care if you expose yourself on here but don't you go having notions about making money off it". platform run by assholes

pornhub, etc, are also not on this list so it seems like the problem really isn't the content per se, it's charging for it. at some point it's hard to escape the conclusion that the animus here is towards the idea of women withholding their sexual availability.

This fact gets lost in the shuffle sometimes but it's really important that people realize that the company that makes Bluesky is not a software development company, it's a law firm with a data brokerage attached

This feels like it once again falls into the category of “the development/moderation team *HATES* that their website is “infested” with furries, trans folx, and sex workers”

Says a lot about priorities when onlyfans and fansly are on the list, but like... 4chan, kiwifarms, shock content sites, stormfront, etc are all fine...

also shout-out to this not being configurable at all, baking Bluesky corporate editorial policy into the code other people are meant to be able to host. granted I'm not sure anyone *is* doing that, but they're barely even pretending.

This is so weird, but again that shows where they stand regarding sex workers, I expected some sites would be blocked but that's so dumb. What's the point of adding a feature that most would use for that but actually not allowing it, they're pushing some really puritan-coded decisions sometimes.
