@cstross.bsky.social hello! I’m reading the Regicide Report while travelling and really enjoying it! Thank you 😊 As the universe is set a decade back and earlier, I keep wondering: have you given thought to how LLMs would fit into a universe where sufficient computational density summons horrors?

I've given it enough thought to know I'm absolutely not going to write that universe. (Anyway, can you imagine the Black Pharaoh's idea of how to deal with the AI bros? I imagine it would involve a lot of gibbets and screaming …)

The general result of LLMs being applied to computational demonology would be the destruction of that area, if not the entire world. I presume the cthonians would get involved at that point, probably by causing an extinction-level event for the surface.
