Naturally you meant everything but that one thing.

better to try and fail than to never have tried at all. it's in our nature to strive for perfection, and we are privileged enough to afford mistakes. accept those mistakes, and take them as a lesson. continue striving for perfection, but don't get hung up on failures, learn and grow from them.
