Artists want to make art because it makes us feel good. AI is designed to make money on art by taking it away from us. It is going to be faster than us. Better than us. And it will make more money than us. It was never about money, but the people in charge of AI made it precisely only about money.

those people that see ai content as equal to what artists produce don't see the joy, creativity, artistic intent or raw soul in art, they just see that in the end it's a Product, and they see that ai also produces a Product (and that they both make Money), so they can't tell the difference

capitalism now is about finding the most efficient way of making money and rising above others, even if it means screwing over other fellow people in the most evil of ways and degrading them to just a "consumer" ai can be a great tool, but some are just using it as a stepping stone for this purpose

I think that's a very unfortunate side of it, but I also think that if done right, it can be really helpful to artists! I'd love to have a tool that could help with topology or rigging in a 3D model, or better stem extractors for songs, better masking tools for video editors, etc. etc.

the reason (imo) is because corporations always trying to push a friction-free lifestyle. why go out and eat when you can order in? why spend ages practicing drawing or writing when a machine can do it for you and you can take the credit? but friction births beauty. and they’re stealing it from us

its going to feed the spampocalypse... its going to be way, way harder to find anything genuine when you have a continuous spam engine running. people will then just stop bothering trying to engage in the arts.

I feel it's such an insult simply because they try to put a value to art. or a purpose. but art does not need either of those things. the beauty of art is BECAUSE humans do it because they feel like it. not for a fucking product

I think what irks me the most is what the AI sector has done is go right after the craft, the work. The WORK is what artists love, the act of doing, the "process". I don't want to just have ideas, and let a machine execute on them. I wish the conversation would shift to tools, not replacement.

AI just synthesizes what it thinks is wanted to be seen via stealing and piecing together other pieces of art, it will never be experimental, it will never be creative, it will never be able to do anything new, or have any amount of soul. Art is the soul's expression and interpretstion of the world.

It is this simple fact that picks me up, we have power to fight back in various ways, even if the road ahead is bumpy so long as humans are around, art will be too. We just need to do what we can against it in the immediate moment to set more precedent against it.

It's only when it snowballed into a complete replacement for artists that it became problematic, instead of being a useful tool to help the creative process. Now it's just a complete substitute for the entire creative process and aims to forget why we make art in the first place

I dunno, I have no solution, just that this all sucks. I know drawing takes years to get to a point where it feels fun. I know that's the same for making music, writing books, or making games. I just don't know what the point is to make it all immediate and just cut out... humans out of it all

To be honest now that i think its kinda like games industry nowdays too. Way before games were meant to be fun and didnt chased "infinite profit" style, now we got so many big titles dropping every year from huge companies what seem often disconnected from the idea of what makes games great.

we should cherish tho more indie titles as often dev teams follow passion and thought about others rather than how to make most amount of money, I always admired teams what put lots of love into their games across years and people enjoy what is being put out.

Unfortunately, we've hit a point in time where any new technology is immediately used to quickly abuse its capabilities. A system that could have been assistful is instead utilized in harmful ways, and it sucks for everyone except the ones causing the problems, who also don't care about the damages.

The point seems to be that they have forgotten what it means to be human, in favor of what it means to have power. Dragons exist no matter the world we are in. But don't lose hope, and give a smile to those in need, if you have one to spare. A dragon can't steal hope. And they can't buy a smile.
