👋Inspector Brad Johnson talks about the results of Operation Silent Night and the work of the our Traffic Safety Team to reduce noisy vehicles on 17 Avenue S.W. Through August 2026, traffic safety peace officers measured sound levels, educated drivers and raised awareness around vehicle noise.

Exactly. They just dispersed the problem out of one area into other neighbourhoods. It sounds like drag racing most nights around my place. I like winter because it's a lot quieter.

Noise monitoring data collected during the enforcement period showed fewer loud vehicle events. The number of events dropped from 357 in 2025 to 267 in 2026. Average sound levels also fell from 71.18 dBA to 68.8 dBA.
