Trans day of remembrance. Don't just focus on those trans people who have been murdered by strangers in public. Also remember the trans people who were denied healthcare, allowed to die in prison, encouraged to kill themselves by their loved ones, buried under the wrong name by their families.

There's a media push to treat transphobic violence as something that is perpetrated by evil individuals (rednecks, young men in bars, etc) who murder out of ignorant hatred. The truth is, trans people are murdered quietly and systematically by the institutions that are supposed to protect them.

Yeah, like now, they want to force congresswoman Mc Bride to use the men's bathroom. Which is absolutely not safe for her. I hope she always finds someone reliable to go with her so she won't need harassed or attacked there. I would either do that or use a diaper.
