so *thats* what all the commotion was about

A reminder that this is a big country - two of those five birds are not on my Life list. We have Great Horned Owls, and the Red-breasted Nuthatch and Dark-eyed Junco are common in our backyard. But the only hummingbirds we have are Ruby-throated, and the Blue Jay is our most common bird.

Dang! We get the stellars jays too, out here - so the jays are like, preps/goths/rednecks (blue/stellars/scrub) 😅

Our Big Three birds are American Robin, Blue Jay and Northern Cardinal. We also have billions of House Sparrows at our feeders, but that's a pest species.
