Post

/18 This longer post is intended to give myself closure and throw some words into the void so I can put this situation to rest for myself. Not many people follow me here on Bsky and even less actually read what I type. However this is for me and whomever reads this can form their own opinions.

/18 Some of you may know what this is about but for others, recap: My close friend DaveC lost his partner Kryotic to someone who I brought into his life 2-3 years ago named Glenn/Glennus. I feel guilt about this despite having little to do with the new situation.

/18 Back then, Glenn and I got to know each other briefly (3mo?) and while things started out pleasantly things quickly turned sour. Glenn became manipulative and if Dave and another friend hadn't pointed it out, I likely would have listened to Glenn and ended up hurt in some form or another.

/18 FFWD to now, as my Dave has lost Kryotic to Glenn who was likely in contact with Kryotic ever since Glenn got kicked out of the group we were all part of. I got hurt. I lost my friends I called chosen family. I wont make any excuses for my anxiety/stress filled attention needy behaviour, BUT...

/18 As it turns out, my initial gut feeling was right. What happened? I was in a severely stressful situation at home. This caused me to complain too much towards my group of friends about the things happening to me. A bad habit Im aware of but struggled to control in that moment.

/18 After fair criticism on this I figured I should retreat. Give my friends some space and myself time to center myself. Coming back a month later to this group and immediately someone else started issues with me. This told me I needed more time to balance myself.

/18 However, I didn't tell my friends this (hooray for autism). Up till this point, my bad. Where things become bad is this: It seems that the moment I left or even before, Kryotic had spread rumors about me. So I been told by Dave who got it from people in that group now that the drama is out.

/18 The drama being: Kryotic breaking up with Dave to be with Glenn. Glenn sending a LONG message to Dave in which Glenn immediately mentions me. The message is full of in my opinion gloating about his victory over Dave (and myself). To Glenn and that message I got little to say except this:

/18 You Glenn (should you read this) state that I spouted insanities. I'm sure in your mind I did. I would ask for proof. I would ask what exactly I said that made you believe that. But I wont. Because I don't care. And I will get back to that because its a great lesson I learned form all this.

/18 You state that Dave and I made you into a 'boogeyman' and we been living in 'an illusion that you are the devil'. And I can only laugh at that. Glenn, after we parted ways, I haven't thought of you or your words or actions a single day. Well there was one time. Someone mentioned you.

/18 They had to state multiple things about you to get me to remember you. After that mention I forgot you again. But I remember you now. Now that in all likelihood you been talking to Kryotic who is acting VERY unlike himself. Now I remember the manipulative guy you were.

/18 Through other sources (not Dave) I learned that this is who and what you've always been. I will continue to remember you. Kryotic lied to my friends, I lost my friends. And while that hurt, while I didn't understand for about 5 months why my friends didn't act like themselves, I learned:

/18 My value doesn't come from them. I was forced to live without them and that stung. But I learned to be fine on my own. And I am. My self esteem is now rooted in myself. Friends can say do and think whatever, but I don't care. Sure I'd like to have em with me. But if they leave, I will be fine.

/18 And that's what I mean with: I don't care. And I got you to thank for that lesson Glenn. Whether it's you that whispered in Kryotic's ears to lie about me or it was Kryotic's own initiative. You and Kryo made me stronger. Thank you for that. To Kryotic I say this:

/18 Brilliant move you pulled. I didn't think you of all people would spread rumors to my chosen family about me. I almost held another responsible. I didn't know you hated me this much, I thought we were good friends. Don't come back. You and Glenn both, don't use my name. Forget me.

/18 It's funny that one of the 2 only people not in the room that night I fainted, is the one to say it was fake. You didn't have the readings on Dave's heart monitor. I'm baffled you got everyone to believe you. Don't come talk to me ever again. I wish you (and Glenn) the best in life.

/18 Finally I end this message with this lesson my uncle recently taught me: "In life we don't make mistakes. We make choices. Sooner or later we deal with the consequences. Good ones, bad ones. Whether we knew about those or not. We can't protect others on their path, --

/18 -- they will make whatever choice they think is best (informed or not)" We all make choices. Who to believe. Who to trust. Whether we move on from things or not. Some hard, some easy. My choice today is to close this chapter, knowing I have the answers after giving up on finding them.
