the unspoken part of "he's already been impeached twice" is "so he must be invincible" but he is not. he's a weak, very unpopular, outrageously incompetent criminal who is destroying our democracy. we must impeach him as many times as it takes

Why do so many treat Trump not being convicted as proof Trump is invincible and not proof that the entire Republican Party is a fascist enterprise that wants what Trump wants?

I wonder if it could help the discourse to analogize the narrative effect of the impeachments with that of a feckless war on Iran. Iran looks more powerful than ever, even though the effort had all the due consideration of bar brawl. It's a wrestling show, acting like a fist was broken by a face.
