🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ June is Pride month, a time for celebration, commemoration, and protest centered on the LGBTQIA+ community. Across the world, millions of displaced and asylum-seeking LGBTQIA+ people are systematically overlooked by aid organizations.

Some of the countries where this marginalization is most intense are also the most linguistically diverse, compounding the threats to their safety.

We urge humanitarian organizations to be true allies for the LGBTQIA+ community. Review your organization's programs and policies in light of data and lived experiences to ensure the specific needs of LGBTQIA+ people in crises, including their language preferences, are taken care of.
