🚨Europe’s climate change-driven heat dome is continuing for another week, bringing exceptional early-summer heat across the continent!🚨 🌡️Temperatures are reaching up to 17°C (31°F) above average, with highs of 44°C (111°F) forecast in parts of Portugal, Spain, and France.

Between June 22–27, much of Portugal, Spain, and France is expected to see temperatures between 35°C and 44°C (95°F–111°F). 🌡️Many locations are experiencing temperatures 6°C to 20°C (11°F–36°F) above what is typical for late June.

The heat extends beyond southern Europe. 📍For example, parts of southern England, western Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands are forecast to reach 32°C–35°C (90°F–95°F), around 5°C–12°C (9°F–22°F) above normal.

Some of the most concerning conditions involve humid heat. 📍Parts of south-central England and northeastern France are expected to see wet-bulb temperatures of 25°C–26°C, increasing the risk of heat-related illness — especially for vulnerable populations.

According to #ClimateCentral's Climate Shift Index (CSI), cities including Madrid, Paris, Rome, and Lyon have reached CSI Level 5. ➡️CSI Level 5 means that climate change made the observed temperatures at least 5x more likely — an indicator of an exceptional climate change event.

This week, the scale of exposure across Europe is enormous: 🔴Nearly 307 million people across Europe will experience at least one day of CSI Level 3 heat 🔴More than 152 million exposed to exceptional CSI Level 5 conditions
