I wonder if it was a combination of Cloudflare checking for human and maybe the weird Spanish FIFA IP blocking thing

Yeah, it’s probably our kinda aggressive non-US Cloudflare security rules. We were DDoS’d and most of our traffic is from the US while much of the DDoS was international, so we turned those up some.
