The plastic problem is world wide not only do we as consumers need to do our share, but the companies that package our products, food etc need to be help accountable as do our governments to form legislation to stop this madness. There are better alternatives.

The petroleum industry is subsidised thus making it cheap for the packaging companies to use. It does also keep products fresher for longer. There are natural products that are biodegradable that could replace this wasteful toxic packaging, but governments are not helping these companies out.

Agree. Both the Tories and Labour have made noises about this, but neither followed through. The packaging on none biodegradable items continues to increase, particularly where products are bought online.
