@expo.dev SDK 54 now targets Android 16, which means edge-to-edge will be enabled in all Android apps, and cannot be disabled. Additionally, react-native-edge-to-edge is no longer a dependency of the expo package because the required functionality was built into React Native thanks to @zoontek.me 👏

With Expo Managed, Android scoped storage blocks direct saves to Downloads. The smoothest option: use StorageAccessFramework—ask the user once for a folder, cache its URI, and auto-save invoices (PDF) there. In Bare workflow, libs like rn-fetch-blob or react-native-fs enable direct Downloads access.
