I rip a lot of DVDs from TV shows so I can host them on Plex. Sometimes, those episodes don’t rip in the right order, nor do they include names. You don’t know what’s episode 1 vs episode 20. So…

Building an AI enabled app that pulls the embedded subtitles, determines the plot, and then compares those details to tvdb.com for the series in question. Keeping track of which episodes it’s already suggested so it doesn’t duplicate, etc.

And it manages downloading and running local models, you can plug in an API key for your favorite frontier model if you want though. I gotta figure out transcribing the audio if there aren’t any subtitles available, but that’s a 2.0 problem I’m calling it, Scout.
