So many people can't conceptualize manufacturing that isn't sweatshop labor, like really genuinely truly think all manufacturing is exploitation, and that a professional working relationship that is fair between a client and a manufacturer isn't possible

is this ok to share? no worries if not! i hate how xenophobic and especially sinophobic ppl get about manufacturing. plus like, do they genuinely think Only ppl in north america + europe have manus for their small businesses? hello ๐Ÿ˜ญ

It is always people who have no experience with manufacturing who are saying this and are very adamant about the perceived ethics of this thing they have no knowledge of. And it is always Westerners firmly believing that non-Western nations CANNOT and WILL not ever manufacture ethically

And actually it makes me very angry because it is INCREDIBLY racist and xenophobic to make this huge blanket assumption but I only ever hear it from leftists claiming to care about worker exploitation when they're getting angry at small businesses

Also maybe a hot take but I think some people saying these things are not saying it for actual real true ethical beliefs but are just looking for a logical way to justify disrespecting digital art and design as being inferior to traditional craft

Anyways so great to be a Chinese small business owner who has a good relationship with my Chinese business partner manufacturer and constantly see people who should be my peers and colleagues and allies say stuff like The Evil Chinese Labor Exploiters except not in those words. You know.
