Okay to be completely angry and honest here: as if being for-profit slave camps wasn't enough, prisons across the US do their best to destroy the humanity of incarcerated folks and restrict their access to knowledge and joy by heavily restricting books from being sent to prisons.

It really fucking sucks, and their book banning work predated the recent wave of conservative bullshit by decades. Did you know that you can't send single issue comics to prisons because *staples are classified as weapons*??? Yeah that's just the tip of the iceberg.

This crap makes me so angry, you know? I'm literally on fire. Okay maybe part of that's the whole being a middle aged woman and having hot flashes. The anger is definitely the majority of it though.
