one anecdote: I was searching for a link to one of my old papers on Google, and the automated Gemini summary attributed all of my lab's work to my husband

When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

Correction; they don't actually know if reporting this internally will get it corrected but they can try. XD Once again, need the actual search terms, as they aren't able to reproduce this behavior rn

I've long since stopped expecting searches to correctly attribute work to me. It's only 12 years since I won the fight to get my full name on papers. It took a risky decision to refuse journals permission for final publication (after review!) until they fixed their "technical difficulties".
