Trump's DOJ told a judge how to rule. Then it pulled her from court. Karen Donoso Stevens' allegations, which she's sharing publicly because of her deep concern for the court's integrity, were corroborated by contemporaneous notes as well as colleagues, family and attorneys interviewed by WaPo.

This is the part they never say out loud: immigration judges work for the DOJ. The prosecutor is the judge's boss. When she would not play along, they did not argue the case. They benched their own ref. A court where one side can swap the judge mid-game is not a court.
