I really hate that I can't talk about trans rights issues withe friends? Any time trans rights or issues come up, it's just "sorry I don't like discussing politics". Why is my life and ability to live it with the same freedoms and rights as everyone else minimized to "Politics"

How can we stand up and resist the government overreach and oppression if we can't even be vocal about these things with each other? We need to talk about these issues. We need to be loud about these issues. I'm tired of shutting up because it makes other people more comfortable.
