Probably the best strategy guide ever written. The narrative is incredible, but it's also cool that the first section is all puzzle hints without answers, and the last section is just all answers to the puzzles with no fluff. Brilliant.

My strategy guide was the physical empty journal you shipped with it. As in, I was a kid when I played it and when I was feeling really stuck, I would look through the notes my father took in the journal. I lament that we lost this kind of thing in the modern age of gaming.

There was something magical about those old first-person strategy guides. I remember reading through the Prince of Persia one many times as a kid. Maybe the magic was the “I was a kid” part, but still.

The Pirate I would want to be, trim the sails and roam the sea.
