I'm not sure I see a way of restoring democracy without scrapping the constitution and starting over. Trump has shown our system is utterly corrupt and the constitution completely unable to check the rise of a fascist party. Step 1, win in November, but I don't see the path from there.

Also though @hcrichardson.bsky.social, they’re too stupid to be the kinds of fascists many imagine when they hear or read that word. These monsters are #halfascist = half-assed + fascist. It’s what fascsism is when it’s slightly more stupid than evil.

Unfortunately Americans need to do more than ‘call that out’. A major rejection of Trumpism in November is the absolute minimum required.

The democrats have been too complacent & willing to support the status quo & the republicans have been shifting the Overton Window further & further to the right because the Dems haven’t pushed back. This is why social/progressive democrats have been more & more successful in this election cycle!

All that matters for 2026 and 2028 is where we vote and turnout in those Swing States and Districts. Or it will all be over by the 2030s.

Maybe so, but what about the prices of groceries and gas? The One Big Bullshit Bill Act next year will slash Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare, for the knuckle-draggers out there), SNAP (food stamps) and even Medicare. Democrats need to make it plain it was the GOP that fucked us.
