My biggest gripe is the tab for accepting the suggestion. I very often got a ton of AI garbage when I was just trying to indent some code or use the regular autocomplete

Have you given Cursor a good go. I'm interested when/if VSCode catches up? This was a big DX boost that helped me to stick with Cursor. It just kept feeling right and intuitive so accepted suggestion so much more compared to copilot's autocomplete.

I basically turned everything to "on" for co-pilot, and I having an experience where it's "too" aggressive. It's constantly trying to re-write everything and is quickly becoming a fly that I need to swat away. Or may it's trying to tell me my code is rubbish? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I will not use Gen AI trained on stolen data in my development.
