I watched a TikTok a week ago from someone who came to college here in Ireland and when they were going over emergency procedures couldn't understand why we don't have active shooter protocols. It makes me so sad and angry.

I just keep coming back to this: I naively thought there was a number of dead children beyond which we would act, which is itself grotesque. There is no number, which is worse.

I think photos of the carnage should be published. That might finally cut through.
