Nithya Raman has worked with Zionist organizations, has stated her belief that Israel has a right to exist, and has condemned Palestinian resistance. Regardless of one's personal feelings about compromise and electoralism, it is absurd for an antizionist socialist organization to endorse her.

NEW: DSA's National Political Committee passed two resolutions today aimed at Los Angeles mayoral candidate Nithya Raman, beginning processes that could result in DSA-LA being forced to rescind its endorsement of her this weekend and/or Raman herself being expelled from DSA by January.

The endorsement should not have happened in the first place and the National Committee is acting well within its rights to enforce the organization's regulations.

It is probable that Raman will win based solely on the fact that Bass is a walking trainwreck, and Raman is a competent social democrat. That does not mean Raman is a principled socialist worthy of a socialist organization's endorsement (which includes member time and resources, among other things).
