As previously discussed, I will be dropping support for Forge moving forward. Fabric and NeoForge will continue to be supported as normal. Please read the rest of this thread for more details.

When the NeoForge project was initially announced I stated that I would be dropping support for legacy Forge after a grace period to allow the rest of the community to migrate. After roughly a year of updates I feel enough time has been given.

There are a number of reasons for my decision to drop support for Forge. The primary reasons are lack of a user base, technical debt, and a lack of innovation.

The first project that will drop support for Forge is Bookshelf. Older versions of Bookshelf for Forge will still exist, but they will not continue to receive bug fixes, ports, and other updates.

There are a few special exceptions to this, mainly older versions of Minecraft. Open Loader specifically will be receiving updates as part of a collaborative initiative with other devs and CurseForge.
