Helpful rule of thumb: Good criticism is about how well you did what you were trying to do. Bad criticism is about whether you should be doing what you were trying to do.

True! I should have specified as constructive criticism that comes from people that a creator might have a personal relation to. I know enjoyers of art will always criticize, but I personally don't really consider it anything other than opinions expressed into the ether.

Again, obviously, there are exceptions to this; if 99% are calling your work racist/sexist/ableist, then you should probably take another look at it. But the bad/good or the way to leverage the medium? People will always have differing opinions on this
