Finished reading today: Lucy Foley’s Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel: The New Miss Marple Mystery, and S.A. Cosby’s All the Sinners Bleed. Two very different books about murder, but both very enjoyable

The Foley picks up Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple stories, but it’s clearly a Lucy Foley book, particularly in telling the story from multiple first person perspectives. That said, it’s also a whodunit that plays fair by Golden Age standards, and Miss Marple does piece it all together and do a reveal

Meanwhile All the Sinners Bleed is about gruesome crimes in the fictional Charon County in rural SE Virginia. It starts with what seems to be a school shooting and then only goes on to be more graphic from there. The book is also about how the legacy of slavery continues to linger on in the South
