We have clearly put too much power at the disposal of the presidency and not enough guardrails around our democracy.

Only when the president is a Republican. Democratic presidents can't even make the Supreme Court appointments they're supposed to be able to make. The rules have worked one way only.

1) First of all, "We The People" need to have the power to vote anybody out of office and physically remove them by the power of an emergency vote by city, state, or national petition. We the People need to have an agency power to physically enforce the final "overruling power" of the people.

2) Second, If this "emergency declaration power" by the people is implemented, it "overrules all 3 branches of government and military forces." This is to safeguard the nation from all criminality of powers of abuse that the justice system & 3 branches refuse to recognize of wrongful interpretation.

3) All statutes of limitations, and legal process timelines of due process are legally bypassed by the will of the people's vote and is final. No Appeals! The people have spoken. All penalties, removals and charges must be brought within 24 hrs of the people's vote. There can be "grouped" removals.

4) Guardrails must obey the people or they can be charged with treasonous actions if the actions "harms the people" through negative, refusal to act, not enough action, or power of abuse by government officials that the people recognize as corrupted government by criminality or mental willfullness.

There used to be an honor system but it supposed that people would have honor I can say Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House is a man without honor. President Trump never had any honor to begin with. Mitch McConnell is a man with out honor but he has some nerve. John Roberts is ... you get the picture

The guardrails were there. It is just that they refused to use them. Trump could have been banned from political office had he been banned for Treason after staging a Coup. This remedy was already in the Constitution but there was zero follow through.

I beg to differ. We have guardrails/rules that have not been put into play and we have an idiot pretending to be President who does not understand how to play with rules. He only wins. If this were a game, and it is on many levels, no one could play.

Like... No gerrymandering? No electoral college? Voting on day off? No need for voting registration? No appointments for life? Your democracy has no wheels, why would you add guardrails.

The President should have the same power the king of England has. None. We can replace the executive branch with a prime minister or something similar. People can still vote for the president, but it should be purely symbolic. We've proven everyone voting for a president is no different from a king.

You didn't though. He doesn't have the authority to do 90% of what he has been doing. He's just done it and dared people to stop him, after replacing most the people who could buy sycophants or people he has paid off or has dirt on.

Says the guy who's party wishes to rewrite VA law to forcefully retire the entire bench of SCOVA and summarily appoint a bench of liberals who will rubberstamp their all blue voting districts in a state with 46% Republican voters. You've no right to lecture anyone on guardrails, Dummy.
