I would guess the problem here is not just raw inflation numbers, but that it is clear Trump is actively working to make it worse. In theory we could probably get back the ~2% inflation we have had for most of my adult life if he would stop doing dumb shit.

This is insane. Inflation is under 4%. We’ve genuinely created a monster here: a public that hallucinates intolerable inflation no matter what the actual figures are. It is a bullet to the head of the entire progressive project *and progressives can’t even be made to care.*
