But 2016 was a bad year for trust in the EU. The longer time series gives a different expression.

The worrying part of the survey is that in most countries, people think the economy (national and European) is doing worse. We are still easily losing the vibes game - people's perception of the economy is worse than the economy itself.

I’m here for that ~10% who does not trust the EU but is optimistic about its future.

Especially interesting, given current circumstances, is the finding that 80% of EU citizens want the EU to hit back against the US if Trump proceeds with his trade war. And 81% want a common EU defence & security policy. europa.eu/eurobaromete...
