Embedded swift has a loooong way to go before it is practical. Large memory foot print, no static memory layout to name just 2 fundamental issues. Can “Any” and dynamic dispatch ever be supported? Not sure what the point of swift is on MCUs as good lanuages for this exist now.

It’s still a useful language mode. For instance for compiling to WASM. Static mem layout is also getting there with a few implemented proposals like Span types and a stack-allocated array type. According to the authors Any and dynamic disp could be supported but both require in-binary..

Very true. Although correct me if I’m wrong freeRTOS provides a C header API so swift should(?) support linking to it Have to admit though I’ve only done a few projects with freeRTOS and it was always in C and for Microchip chips so I’m quickly leaving the realm of my direct experience/knowledge
