With JupyterLite deployments like notebook.link we need to have more code running in the browser. WASM already allows running kernels like Python, R, C++, Fortran... but we still need to go through the browser for remote access.

JavaScript libraries do that perfectly so why not use them? We can just have Python APIs and bridge to the JS ecosystem. Ipywidgets do just that although they were initially created for interactive UIs.
