You really need to work hard to be the most obsequious member of Trump’s cabinet — by, for instance, eating lunch at Cheesecake Factory and alerting Fox Business, so they can interview you in defense of Obama’s joke about the White House decor. Well done Secretary Bessent! Your move, Doug Burgum!

… Also, not to be too nerdy and pedantic, but in the interview Bessent said that Obama’s library looks like “Darth Vader’s tomb,” when obviously Vader’s body was burned at the end of ROTJ, and the proper comparison is with Darth Vader’s Fortress on Mustafar.

So many ways the discussion around this has missed the point though. I agree. Some of us kinda miss it too though... Obama wasn't making a dig about the Cheesecake Factory really. His nuanced joke though seems hard to explain, like a lot of good jokes.
