I find the whole Affinity suite a bit clunky, and I’ve had mixed results with other Adobe file types. I’ll have to give EPS a try.

for a sec i confused EPS with EMF and was like "oh, the format you have to convert to to get SVGs into google slides?"

My recollection is that EPS and PDF are essentially frozen PostScript jobs, so some PDF readers (and things like Adobe's Distiller) in theory could open EPS files
