We're in the very early stages of a new #startup idea. An online storefront for your company branded merch, that only your team have access to. Would your startup find this useful? #buildinginpublic

Have your hoodies, t-shirts, mugs and other goodies, made to order when your team wants them. Onboard new team mates and offer an allowance to spend in your store. No more welcome packs filled with crap no-one uses, or t-shirts that are too small.

Thanks for your feedback Sachin. We're expecting that, especially tech start-ups, would have a logo and some brand colours that would go together to make t-shirts and hoodies at least. From our experiences branded merch usually comes up in conversation early in a start-ups journey.

Yes, in the sense that this already exists, and we have had one at WP Engine for years, and people definitely like it. I'm not saying that to discourage you, but to show there's a market for it. That said, yours needs to be different 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘩𝘰𝘸 to justify why it should exist.

Thanks Jason, this is some good insights. Is this something that WP Engine built themselves or a service that was bought in? I'd imagine some companies have built in-house solutions, the plan here is to reduce that burden. Would you mind if we reach out in future to ask some more questions?

No, it's a service. There are many such services. I doubt people build these themselves; the HR group doesn't have engineers. Sounds like you need to research the market! Again, not to discourage, but to understand your positioning.
