I would like to visit Canada this summer, to spend my vac $ there and do my v. small part economically to counterbalance my govt. Thinking Alberta in July. Any thoughts for a respectful, pro-Canada American wanting to do that?

Yeah, the Stampede is what was partly driving my timing But I guess I'm wondering Canadians think, the mood up there. Going there & spending my US$ would be almost the only thing I could do to help them right now, but on the other hand they might just want a break from Americans as much as possible

Wow. 😮 Thanks for sharing this, Debbie! My wife is Australian and we're headed back to the US for my book tour, her "real work" and some family visits... I had never heard of this latest ridiculous treatment of family members hailing from our long-term partner nations, so I appreciate the heads-up

I’m sorry to say this, but I’d advise against traveling to the US. Things are really screwed up here and the Trump administration is lawless. Come back in a few years and hopefully this all will be over.

And how, may I ask, have things changed for Americans wanting to visit Canada—for just a few days, and over 30 days? Will returning Americans now be subject to a strict vehicle & bodily inspection, including a lengthy interrogation by Peace Bridge officials? This is insane. Thanks to #Felon47 ☠️

I am so upset. My son his wife and daughter were to come visit in June. My son is mixed, Korean and white, his wife is Chinese. (Canadian/Chinese dual) I had to advise them not to come! I couldn’t bear it if they took my granddaughter!

Honestly? At this point I would advise any friend or family I have abroad who wants to visit the U.S. to go visit somewhere saner. Goes without saying I’d rather visit them when I can. Sucks, but it is what it is right now.
