When you take away rights from some groups, you open the door to taking away rights from everyone.

Within hours of SCOTUS’s ruling on the birthright citizenship injunction, the ACLU, ACLU of ME and NH, Asian Law Caucus, and the Defending Democracy Fund filed a class action, nationwide lawsuit. It has the potential to obtain the same relief that SCOTUS ruled federal courts cannot via injunctions.

When they came for the LGBT community I was silent since I'm not LGBT. When they came for the AA community, I was silent because I'm white. When they came for women, I was silent because I'm male. When they came after immigrants, I was silent because I was born in America. Now they're coming for me😧

"For the child born this summer in Texas, whose parents receive no documents, whose name never appears in any system, and who grows up asking why she can’t go on field trips, apply for scholarships, or open a bank account, the consequences are not legal theory. They are her life."

And the END of a democracy! You can not take away freedom! When you wake up safe and clean in a bed, you are not fighting for your freedom. Fighting is uncomfortable. Ppl fighting for freedom are up all night planning, never get to eat, no hobbies, no housecleaning... You are DOING nothing!

They never think it's gonna be them, because they are special. What really pisses me off is that a normal human would care about the abuse being inflicted on the other humans, regardless of any implication it could also happen to them. Maybe normal humans are an exception now.

A Faux News watching neighbor told me something like, "Yeah, but that's Medicaid, that doesn't affect us." SMH. You think I should tell her? bsky.app/profile/sall...

Think Medicare is safe? Nope. Large cuts to Medicaid can trigger automatic cuts to Medicare. This is due to a law called the Statutory Pay-As-You-Go Act (PAYGO), which requires automatic cuts to Medicare if legislation increases the federal deficit by a certain amount. 2/2

I feel bad for the three progressive women on the Supreme Court. Their work must be incredibly frustrating. And some of their coworkers seem unpleasant. Yet they can’t quit because it would give Trump another nomination.

Bad things are coming, regardless of what groups you do or don't belong to. Just a reminder to everyone - find your community. Your neighbor, an online friend, your work friends, etc. We will need each other's support in the coming days. #strongertogether

I don't love my own country anymore. I didn't know there was this much hate for women, LGBTQ, immigrants, and the poor lying just below the surface. This regime is composed of truly ugly Americans.

SCOTUS lost its legitimacy when McConnell refused to fill Scalia's seat for a YEAR and then sat Amy a WEEK before the election. And, several members lied in their job interviews. What are you expecting of them?
