Odd phrasing, food safety was a target of attack. There is no question to be raised about if it has been weakened, it was directly sabotaged as part of a published plan. The admin holds the false belief that the market will "self-correct" and become safer once rules are removed. This was the plan.

Raising questions? We were reporting on the govt's cuts to border food inspections 25 years ago. The border produce association said it was serious malpractice and the public will pay dearly for it. We are. But at the time, no one paid attention. Gotta cut regulations!! GOP mantra.
