Marc Elias pretends to explain election law. What he’s really doing is pushing a hardcore anti-American rewrite of the rules and hoping you never wise up. He doesn’t need you to know the statute. He needs you not to.

The level of ignorance on this platform is insane. States decide their own voter-roll maintenance methods. Some already use SAVE or similar tools; others do not. Today's SCOTUS ruling makes the modified federal tool available again for states that request it; it does not impose a mandate.

Let's all remember that Democracy Docket is Marc Elias's opinion vehicle. Regardless of whatever institution-like gravitas he tries to bestow upon it, it's just a campaign lawyer's biased newsletter.
