I feel like we all know why it’s being done - anyway to ensure voting by mail will result in as many ballots as possible not being counted/delivered in the midterm election!

American elections run through state governments and thousands of county and municipal offices: clerks print ballots, secretaries of state certify, governors sign, and federal agencies have almost no role in that sequence.

This is to prevent overseas absentee voters, of which I am one, from having their ballots counted. Many of us can't vote in person. A solution for absentees who can't reach a drop box is to mail the seaked ballot envelope inside a Manila envelope and use stamps. My primary ballot got through.

This delayed start date announcement comes less than a month after Trump’s failed attempt to use the USPS to restrict mail balloting. Prior to the ruling, a whistleblower report claimed the agency began rushing to implement Trump’s order — in direct defiance of a court order.
