Statements like these show the lack of knowledge the Anthropic employee had in this case. Tokens are generated by a stateless server! The model is "turned off" every time it finishes a request. For models to "remember" something, you need to send the entire chat history (or summary) with your prompt

Over a year ago I met an Anthropic employee at a conference and at one point she mentioned that one of the things she was working on was whether or not it was cruel to ever turn off an AI model. I thought she was joking. She was not.
