Yeah this is where I see this naturally going: a patchwork of individual machines, clusters at schools, companies holding out into the network, etc, all with composable layers of (social, technical, legal) trust & security, people making arrangements for their own compute as they see fit, on ATProto

And FWIW this is why I see it as basically the same thing as Graze when you defocus a bit - two sided market, delegated decisionmaking about how to make it work best for you, etc

I love the idea of composable relation “layers”. In the sense theres not one graph but many and they are built through direct or proxied trust. In social media its a follow vs a starter pack (repost?). I guess theres durable vs ephemeral connections as another dimension

We need a better agreement of who decides the policy for the DIDs within its purview - or maybe the edged. To me “domain” feels right but maybe theres another approach
