does anybody happen to know of a source reporting this fodor story?

... his work might be used by ID people to undermine people's confidence in evolution. Fodor apparently thundered out something like: "I am paid handsomely by the state of New Jersey to discover truths and announce them. It is not my concern what other people do with them."

if not, would you be okay with me citing your bluesky post, @willfleisher.bsky.social?

I would love to hear if you find another source. Feel free to cite me, but with the caveat that I did not witness this. It’s a story that I’ve heard from at least two independent sources. But I can’t vouch for the exact details.

I can say it was a legend among Rutgers grad students when I was in grad school.

But that one of my sources is not a Rutgers grad student.
