As @devoxx.uk is closing on Friday night and us on Sunday night, it gives 2 full days for speakers to recopy their proposals :-)

Daniel Garnier-Moiroux@garnier.wf

Interestingly @devoxxfr.bsky.social gives you an extra week-end to think stuff through.

very thoughtful!😄

Or translate them 😱 Maybe I should ask an LLM now …

@maritvandijk.bsky.social

Please, you do not want me to attempt French.

💖 💖 💖 💖 💖 We want. Others already tried last year! @hollycummins.com @sandraahlgrimm.bsky.social @brunobat.bsky.social and I probably forgot more !!!

@maritvandijk.bsky.social

I don't want to butcher your beautiful language so I have submitted in English. 🤞

Et je prévois de refaire cette année! Avec une année de plus pour m'exercer, ce sera encore mieux.

@hollycummins.com

"Tried" is the key word here. 😂

Daniel Garnier-Moiroux

And @ammbra1508.bsky.social !

@johanhutting.bsky.social

Just add Whisper in between to catch Dungrish and a TTS LLM to announce it in your voice in French 🤔🙃 (Or maybe not...)

@maritvandijk.bsky.social

My French might be iffy, my English is just fine thankyouverymuch.

I tried that before and I’m not happy with the result. I’d like to think we need to write abstracts with different mindsets.

Daniel Garnier-Moiroux

What was wrong about the result?

@zinebbendhiba.com

Not LLM fault but the it's a translation. Few years ago, I would say it's fine. I started reviewing proposals for some years now for both Devoxx FR and Devoxx Ma, and I see now that one needs to shift mindset for languages. Because abstracts are very different in style from English and French.
