Hey #gamewriting BlueSky. Have you played Roadwarden? It's the first game I've seen with an open-world narrative that's primarily presented via text. Like reading a novel while playing a videogame. 1/?

I'm convinced there are infinitely more games like this that can be made -- where much more of the effort goes into the narrative and the writing than the programming. So what would you write about in your 'Roadwarden-like' game?

Magical Girl Murder Mystery. You're a magical girl guarding the city from extra dimensional threats at night and attending school by day until one of the city's defenders dies leaving a cryptic message in blood "The covenant is broken." Stop the growing evil, as loyalty is tested and bodies pile up.
