SV tech companies have a long history of doing the opposite of what they claim would be satisfying & ironic if this also happened the first time they've mask off said "we're going to restructure society & replace you and everything you care about"

I am not going to pretend to be able to predict how all this shakes out, but I think it's possible that instead of Evil Silicon Valley making everyone else irrelevant as threatened, it's possible everyone else will make them irrelevant instead, which would be delightful.
