ANNOUNCEMENT: I will stop running "scheduled" Ludum Dare events in 3 years! "Scheduled" is the key word though. My hope is that leaders within the community can build something better, more welcoming, that honors our legacy. They've got 3 years to figure it out. You even get to study me. πŸ˜‹ #LDJam

I *DARE YOU* to make a BETTER LUDUM DARE! You have 3 years! Until then, we got 6 more events to run! LETS GO! PS: I chose the word "scheduled" for a reason. I will step in if needed, but I'd like to hang up my apron after we say goodbye in October 2028 (April 2029?). #LDJam Looong blog post here:

I don't have DMs on bsky atm because I'm not willing to send in my passport to age verify LD is the only consistent thing the last 14 years of my life. I don't want to see it die. I would take over the mantle of reluctant LD runner if the alternative is it ends. I want LD to live

I know there are people of questionable intentions in the community who would like to take over LD. I literally just want LD to continue. I would rather NOT. it's a tonne of work. I'd rather anyone else did it. but if you need someone reliable who cares about LD itself to keep it going, I am willing

I would also be on board to take on the responsibility for the LD as well, since I also have a pretty long history with the jam. If there's any chance we can keep it going, I would definitely be interesting in working to continue the LD.

For the people who are finding this later, I want to add that after reading through Mike's posts, I 100% understand why Mike is hesitant to let someone else take over the LD in his place. Since then I started working on new site that I will post more about when it's ready for beta testing.

Heya you both :) I would also be on board to support - my background is not as long as yours maybe ("only" 18th Ludum Dares nearly in a row with one exception since 2017 :)). I also have technical background with web dev (since 2008) as well (mostly php but also other stuff).
